Abstract

The authors report an asymmetric allylic substitution of allyl phosphates with aryl- and alkenylboronic acid esters. This reaction is catalyzed by a copper/N-heterocyclic carbene complex which gives access to tertiary and quaternary stereocenters with high regio- and enantioselectivity. The protocol has also been extended to γ,γ-disubstituted allyl phosphate substrates.
