Abstract

The classical Michelson–Morley experiment and all subsequent ether-drift experiments have been sensitive to only second-order effects. It is possible to perform several astronomical tests which are sensitive to the first-order effects and these are described. Existing observations are used in such tests to confirm that no ether effect is observed.
