Asthma guidelines: Where to next?

Abstract

Asthma exerts a worldwide impact, resulting in substantial morbidity and mortality. In the past 30+ years, many entities have developed guidelines for asthma care in efforts to support and improve asthma care based on a constantly evolving evidence base. These guidelines provide health care providers with a curated collection of best practices and approaches for asthma care. Although immensely helpful, there remain many opportunities for further refinement, expansion, dissemination, and implementation.
