Abstract

There has been conflicting initial data regarding the effect of comorbid asthma on severity of illness with COVID-19 infection. Multiple studies have demonstrated an increased prevalence of asthma among hospitalized patients, but more recent studies have not shown an increased risk of severe infection in patients with asthma. Our objective is to understand the impact of asthma as a predictor of severe disease in COVID-19 patients at Stanford Hospital.
