Abstract

In this chapter, the important role of the Lidov-Kozai effect in sculpting both the asteroid belt and the Kuiper belt is considered. In the both belts, the interaction of the Lidov-Kozai resonance with mean motion and secular resonances is an important dynamical factor, defining the structure of the belts and the secular dynamics of individual objects.
