Abstract
The Immunization Monitoring Program, ACTive (IMPACT) is a unique collaboration between Health Canada, the Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) and paediatric infectious disease specialists to provide selected surveillance data on vaccine-preventable diseases and (possible) adverse reactions to immunization. The nationwide project recently celebrated its 10th year of active surveillance, during which time the capabilities of such a system have been extensively explored. The present brief report summarizes the history of the project and highlights its contributions to date.
