Abstract

The development of fast, reliable and secure information systems is the backbone of any modern enterprise. The DoD being a large enterprise owns and operates one of the largest Information Systems in the world and has devoted many resources to keep this vital asset reliable to enable its mission. This investment in resources helps guarantee that the strategic systems have access to increased capabilities, however, the tactical warfighter in a disadvantaged environment needs different technologies to keep them connected to the enterprise. This paper explores these issues in addition to the analysis of requirements, device management, configuration management and scarce datalink resources to exchange data and update capabilities. The paper analyzes the needs and introduces community requirements for a tactical Secure Information sharing environment that supports the network centric view and enables community collaboration.
