Abstract
Background and Aims: MicroRNA miR-21 plays an important role in atherogenesis and affects the stability of atherosclerotic plaque. In the present study, we have analyzed the associations of the rs8078424 (chr17:59873104) with carotid atherosclerosis, total cholesterol levels, and MIR21 gene expression.
