It may be the symptom of a broad spectrum of diseases. Although it was defi ned as one of the prodromal signs of infectious mononucleosis (EMN), its occurrence is rare in clinical practice. In this paper, we reported a 15 year-old female patient, who admitted with periorbital edema and fever, and subsequently diagnosed as EMN and the differential diagnosis of periorbital edema and features of orbital involvement in EMN were discussed.
