Abstract

Even though quality initiatives (QI) and quality award (QA) models have found a significant place in continuous improvement (CI) journey of organisations, a great concern has been shown in the recent past on their indifferent performance implications, given the resources that they consume. This paper discusses the effect of contextual attributes such as size, type and sector of organisation on the correlation between 'interacting' QI/QA models and performance during different time spans of CI journey. The results of the study show that such a correlation existed between some performance measures (PM) and interacting QI/QA models only in case of large-scale and public sector Indian organisations during the time spans before winning the QA.
