Abstract
Plasma cotinine (nicotine metabolite) levels correlate with smoke exposure. Primary and secondary smoke exposure increase cotinine levels and asthma exacerbations. We hypothesized that asthma severity is positively correlated with smoke exposure as determined by detectable plasma cotinine levels.
