Abstract

To the Editor: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common and chronic inflammatory dermatological condition that affects the daily life of individuals in various ways. Many studies have discussed the numerous autoimmune conditions that are potentially associated with AD. 1 Lu Z. Zeng N. Cheng Y. et al. However, there is limited research directly exploring the relationship between AD and thyroid disease in a large U.S. adult population. Our study focused on analyzing the relationship between AD and thyroid dysfunction in U.S. adults (ages 20-59 years) using the 2001-2006 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data, as this was the most recent National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data available for AD. Institutional Review Board approval was not obtained as all patient data were de-identified.
