Abstract

Objective Objective: To detect the association of single nucleotide polymorphism of ADAM19 gene with the overlap syndrome of asthma and COPD (ACOS) susceptibility in Chinese Han population. Methods From October 2016 to October 2018, we enrolled 296 patients who were diagnosed with ACOS (case group) and 272 healthy volunteers (control group) from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University . Pulmonary function parameters including FEV1%, FVC, and FEV1/FVC were measured in every subject. The Mass spectrometry analysis technique for SNP genotyping was used to detect the polymorphisms of rs1422795 and rs10404 loci of ADAM19 gene in peripheral venous blood cells. Results There were significant differences in genotype and allele distribution in rs1422795 locus of ADAM19 gene between the case and control group (P 0.05). In the case group, there were also significant differences in FEV1% and FEV1/FVC among patients with different genotypes of ADAM19 rs1422795 locus(P 0.05). The genotype TT and allele T of rs1422795 were risk factors for ACOS (OR=2.011, 95% CI [1.400~2.889], P<0.05). Conclusion Rs10404 of ADAM19 gene may not be a susceptible factor for ACOS in Chinese Han population, but rs1422795 polymorphism may be related to the occurrence of ACOS in Chinese Han population. Key words: ADAM19 gene; The overlap syndrome of asthma and COPD; Polymorphism; FEV1/FVC
