Abstract

A resolution of the long-standing internal problems of the associated solution model is presented. A consistent version of the theory is constructed by imposing a set of mandatory restrictions. The expressions for the energy and entropy of mixing are modified to ensure a quasichemical level of precision at high temperatures. Complete integration of the associated solution model and quasichemical theory is therefore achieved. The model ensures a significant reduction in the number of empirical parameters used to describe the experimental thermodynamic data. A new interpretation of the basic equations is suggested.A set of clarifying examples is provided.
