Abstract

Dr. Soules' editorial points out some, but not all, of the detrimental effects of assisted reproductive technology on the subspecialty of academic reproductive endocrinology and infertility. This response adds to the list of problems (i.e., discussing the loss of pure endocrinology) but points out an example of a creative solution (i.e., merging academic units with private practices).
