Abstract

Objective: To improve pregnancy outcomes of BL transfer, it is essential to establish a simple, easy and reliable procedure for the cryopreservation of BLs. We have reported the successful application of ultra-rapid vitrification using a cryoloop technique for human BLs (Mukaida T, et al. Hum.Reprod. 2003). However, cryopreservation including exposure to cryoprotectant is proven to cause the hardening of zona pellucida. Therefore, it will be possible to improve the implantation rate with assisted hatching (AHA) at the time of warming of vitrified human BLs before transfer.
