Abstract
High resolution and accurate digital elevation models (DEM) and digital surface models (DSM) become increasingly important in environmental, resources and urban applications. The SAR interferometry has shown to be a very useful technique for generation of DSM and Earth surface change monitoring. With the launch of the TanDEM-X satellite, for the first time single pass interferometrie X-band radar data without temporal decorrelation become available from a spaceborne system. We evaluated the high resolution TanDEM-X data and their DSM results against the SRTM DSM, the Perth's urban monitor products from aerial photography and the DSM from the stereo mapping satellite ZY-3.
