Abstract
This study aimed to measure the concentration of the elements: Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd, Fe and Mg, as well as the percentage of fat, ash, protein and moisture of ten sample of green tea that collected from Baghdad city markets. The results showed the highest value of ash and moisture (6.10, 4.55) in chamain, Dilmah, while lowest value (5.12, 3.21) in Lipton, Mahmood green tea respectively. Dilmah and Alghazalaen show the highest value of fat, protein (2.80, 15.03) respectively, the lowest percent of fat and protein was abserved in Mahmood, Alwazah green tea, respectively. The levels of elements in this study were investigated by using atomic absorption spectrophotometry. All elements concentration was below the permissible limits of the Iraqi standard specifications for tea.
