Abstract
There has been a phenomenal impact of ICT on business. The impact is both vertical and horizontal. The vertical impact can be looked at in terms of the technical aspects of ICT. It indicates the technological innovations that have cut across all the business domains through major technological applications. Various techniques like Business Intelligence, Big Data, Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing and Data Science have been leveraged by business functions to facilitate planning, decision-making, administration, and control. The horizontal impact of ICT can be viewed as its influence on various business domains like manufacturing, marketing, finance, quality, and HR. This paper presents the ICT impact matrix and assesses the vertical and horizontal impact of ICT on business in some details.
