Abstract

The search for meeting energy demand has meant that more and more fuels are tested as energy sources to supply the most different needs in terms of transport electricity and power generation in general. In this context, substances produced from renewable sources (such as ethanol and biodiesel) or waste tires oil fuel presents themselves not only as possible energy solutions, but also as an alternative to environmental problems. The application of tires for this purpose represents, also, an option for the problems related to the destination of this product. This research aims to analyze the feasibility of applying mixtures containing tire oil and neat diesel in diesel engines, both in terms of performance and in terms of emissions.
