Abstract

The article presents the results of assessing the content and quality of water in order to determine the possibilities of reusing the waters of the Main Mil-Garabakh Collector and the drainages feeding it for irrigation of agricultural fields. It has been established that the mineralization of these waters is approximately in the range of 0.4-3.6 g/l and, in terms of chemical composition, it is predominantly chloride-sulfate. The existing classifications of collector-drainage waters by chemical composition, the possibility of using them for irrigation are analyzed using the proposed mathematical formulas and recommendations. Statistical analysis of the study results was carried out using Pearson’s χ2 (chi-square) test and Fisher’s exact method. The results obtained showed that about 800 million m3 of collector and drainage water are reserve and can be used mainly as an additional source of water for irrigation.
