Abstract

Contemporary approaches and possibilities of assessment of hazardous hydrological events impact on population/economy safety in different regions of the country have been considered with inundations and ice phenomena as study cases. It has been demonstrated that peculiarities of the hazardous hydrological phenomena analysis and risk assessment depend on spatial scale of the study which determines the source information structure, methods of its processing, choice of the appropriate indicators/applied mathematical models, and the mode of the phenomena mapping.
