Abstract
Herbal Medicine Has Been In Use Since The Ancient Times For The Management Of Various Ailments Even Before The Advent Of Science And Technology. World Over, A Large Percentage of The Population Uses Herbal Medicine For The Management Of Various Disease Conditions. In Sub-Saharan Africa, The situation Is Not Any Different. In Uganda And Bushenyi District, Nyakabirizi Division In Particular, Majority Of The Population Reported To Be Using Herbal Medicine And Having A Positive Attitude Towards The Use Herbal Medicines. This High Percentage Was Attributed To Poverty In The Area Which Limits The Population In Accessing Modern Health Facilities To Get Modern Drugs And Also The traditional Belief That Hernbal Remedies Are Always Safe. It Should Also Be Remembered That The Population Which Was Interviewed Was Both Men And Women Above 18 Years Of Age Who Were Most Likely Having Much Knowledge And Information Regarding Herbal Medicine Use. It Was Therefore Concluded That Majority Of The Population In The Study Area Use herbal Medicine For Treatment Of Different Disease Conditions And From This Use, Majority Reported To Experience The Expected Outcome.
