Abstract

Relevance of the research. Assessment of the psychosomatic state of patients after acute pancreatitis helps to understand the impact of the emotional state on the chronicity of the disease and can lead to improved treatment planning and rehabilitation of these patients. The aim of the study is to assess the psychosomatic state of patients after the primary episode of acute pancreatitis.Materials and methods. An examination of 80 patients undergoing inpatient treatment for acute pancreatitis was carried out. Psychological questionnaires were used to determine the peculiarities of the psychosomatic state in the examination. The WAM technique was used to assess the state of health, activity and mood. An appropriate clinical questionnaire was used to identify and evaluate the signs of neurotic conditions. The Holmes and Rahe method was used to determine the degree of resistance to stress.Results. According to the scale of "well-being", it was found that the average values of patients corresponded to the low level. The data showed a moderate level when analyzing the scores on the "activity" and "mood" scales. Due to the clinical questionnaire for the detection and assessment of neurotic states, it was determined that the presence of maladaptive states characterizes the psychosomatic state of patients with acute pancreatitis; regardless of gender, the average values among the groups correspond to the level of the disease state. Using the methodology for assessing stress resistance, it was found that patients after the disease identified a low level of stress resistance, without a significant difference between the sexes of the subjects.Conclusions. With the WAM method, indicators of low well-being, activity, and mood indicate a low level of psycho-emotional and physical well-being in patients who have suffered acute pancreatitis. The psychosomatic state of patients with acute pancreatitis is characterized by a low level of resistance to stress and the presence of such maladaptive conditions as anxiety and asthenia, regardless of gender.
