Abstract
Background and Aim: Malnutrition is common in cirrhotics with a 50-90% prevalence and is an important prognostic factor. An ideal assessment tool is unclear due to confounders like ascites and edema. The role of sophisticated nutritional assessment tools is also controversial. Hence, this study was conducted to assess the nutritional status in cirrhotics by using standard nutritional assessment tools and correlating with the severity of the disease.
