Abstract
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Nd:YAG laser treatment in clearing capsular block syndrome(CBS).Methods Twenty of 18 cases with the CBS were treated by Nd:YAG laser form February,2006 to July,2008 in Peking Union Medical College Hospital.Visual acuity,intraocular pressure(IOP)and anterior segment of the eye were observed.Resuits Nd:YAG laser successfully cleared the CBS in all 20 without intraocular lens damage,The visual acuity of 19 eyes(95%)were improved.Two eyes showed a temporarily raised IOP of over 21 mmHg.Conclusions The Nd:YAG laser is a safe and efficacious method in the therapy of CBS,with a less complication and rapid improvement of visual acuity.
