Abstract
Background: Mitral annular disjunction is a pathologically described structural abnormality of the mitral annulus occurring in mitral leaflet prolapse (MVP), and is defined as a separation between the atrial wall–mitral valve junction and the left ventricular attachment. The clinical prevalence, imaging findings and associations of this abnormality are poorly understood.
