Assessment of left ventricular contractility and diastolic function by artificial prolongation of diastole using adenosine

Abstract

We conclude that evaluation of LV function with echo-Doppler during adenosine-induced transient asystole is a promising method. Further studies should be performed comparing this method to other indexes of ventricular function and during various inotropic interventions.
