Abstract
Background of the study: Pregnancy and childbirth are special events in women’s lives and indeed, in the lives of their families. A woman is an important person for her family. She nourishes her fetus and gives birth to child. Aims: the aims or objectives of the study are: i) To assess the knowledge of antenatal mothers on self care strategies attending OPD. ii) To determine the association between the knowledge score with the selected demographic variables. Methodology: 150 antenatal mothers of all trimester were assessed for self care strategies by using structured interview schedule. The findings were then analyzed statistically. Results: It was revealed that there is a positive correlation between the hemoglobin level and dietary habits of ante natal mothers. Conclusion: Hence the results of the study can be a useful tool while handling antenatal mothers and can result in improved health.
