Abstract

Objective: To analyze female sexuality in the post-pregnancy period. Methods: Field study, descriptive, with a quantitative approach. The application of a sociodemographic questionnaire and a sex quotient questionnaire, which evaluated female sexual performance/satisfaction, with a sample of 24 mothers of children up to 24 months old. The data were tabulated in the Statical Package for Social Sciences. Results: It was found that most mothers were aged between 31 and 35 years (41.6%), were married, had completed higher education, had vaginal deliveries, breastfed their children, but not anymore, they had already restarted their sexual life and restarted between the 3rd and 8th week postpartum. Regarding the classification of sexual performance/satisfaction, most obtained a result from fair to good with a percentage of 54.2%, but it is worth mentioning that 20.8% were below fair to good, indicating sexual dysfunction. Regarding the statistical correlation between the performance of the level of Sexual Satisfaction in relation to breastfeeding and mode of delivery, there was no statistical significance (p>0.05). Conclusion: It was found that female sexuality did not undergo major changes in the post-pregnancy period.
