Abstract

Introduction: Computed tomography (CT) image quality is closely related to radiation dose; the higher the radiation dose the better image quality, but the radiation dose from medical imaging is also a health concern due to cancer risk. In this study, a new algorithm to improve image quality at low radiation doses was employed to help solve the problem of signal reduction, along with nonlinear transformation (NLT) algorithm to enhance image contrast and increase contrast to noise ratio (CNR).
