Abstract

Atlas-based auto-contouring uses deformable image registration (DIR) to map contours from an expert atlas to a patient image and can save time and improve consistency in contouring. The use of multiple expert atlases, together with a method to fuse the contours, can further improve segmentation accuracy and robustness to anatomical variability. The goal of this study is to assess and compare Majority Voting (MV) and STAPLE contour fusion methods for atlas-based auto-contouring of the male pelvis.
