Abstract

Low-power wide area networking technology offers long-range communication, which enables new types of services. In this paper, an approach to enhance the efficiency of tracking and monitoring systems for special vehicles, by integrating LoRaWAN technology for telematic data transmission is proposed. This article provides an analysis of the LoRa modulation and LoRaWAN protocol. Furthermore, LoRaWAN security features were overviewed and network size limitations were analyzed. Assessment of the feasibility of LoRaWAN integration showed the full vitality of the concept. This work serves as a basis for further research in LoRaWAN technology and practical implementation of the concept.
