Abstract

Abstract There has been a strong incentive within Nuclear Electric to develop a comprehensive assessment procedure to evaluate the high temperature response of structures; the so-called R5 procedure is extensive and Vols. 2 and 3 deal with the analytical approach and the assessment of creep fatigue damage for defect-free structures. In this paper we describe the approach which has been adopted and identify the relationship between the analytical requirement and material damage assessment under cyclic loading.
