Abstract

Aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD) is the clinical triad of nasal polyposis, asthma, and respiratory reactions to cyclooxygenase-1 inhibitors. Extra-respiratory, gastrointestinal, and cutaneous symptoms have been reported in association with elevations in serum tryptase. Scoring systems are available to assess upper airway symptoms during desensitization, but none capture lower respiratory and extra-respiratory symptoms.
