Abstract

A descriptive study was conducted to assess the knowledge and attitude regarding health effects of over usage of internet among GNM students of selected nursing colleges in Udham Singh Nagar, district with a view to develop a information booklet. Methodology: Quantitative research approach was used for the study non experimental descriptive survey research design was selected. The data were collected from 60 students, who were selected by non-probability purposive sampling technique.. The tools used for the study was structured questionnaire to assess socio demographic data, structured questionnaire to assess the knowledge and attitude assessment scale to assess the attitude regarding health effects of over usage of internet. Results: The findings of the study revealed that knowledge level of student’s majority 50% had good knowledge, 41.66% had average and 8.33% had poor knowledge. The attitude of students regarding health effects of over usage of internet was positive. The correlation implied that there was a very week positive relationship between knowledge and attitude of students (r 0.02, p >0.05). The result showed that there was no significant association between knowledge regarding health effects of over usage of internet with any of the selected socio demographic variables.
