Abstract
Summary This article discusses the Assertive Discipline programme as presented and published in book and video form by the authors, Lee and Marlene Canter. The first programmes with video training materials were produced in 1979. The range was widened in 1989 and a new text published in 1992. New video tapes were promised for summer 1993. * The submission of this article for publication has been approved by the Director of Education, Avon LEA. The UK franchise company have been informed and a copy of the article provided to the company.
