Abstract

A new polyoxometalate (POM)-based compound, (H3O)2[CuII3(btb)6][H4W12O40]2∙2H2O (btb = 1,4-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)butane) was hydrothermally synthesized, and characterized by elemental analyses, FT-IR spectrum, thermogravimetry analysis, powder X-Ray diffraction and single X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 is an unusual example of POM-based hybrid that consists of both helical and porous structural features. Moreover, luminescent property of compound 1 is investigated in the solid state at room temperature. In contrast to free btpe ligand, compound 1 exhibits an enhanced luminescent property, attributed to an internal heavy metal effect.
