Abstract

A case of aspiration of an endodontic instrument is presented. Aspiration of a foreign body is a major complication which may arise from dental instrumentation in the oral cavity. Serious complications involving the respiratory system may result. The basic principles of prevention, diagnosis, and early treatment are emphasized in reducing the morbidity resulting from foreign body aspiration.
