Abstract

The cytopathologic diagnosis of malignant lymphoma using fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) is challenging but possible using the Revised European–American Classification of Lymphoid Neoplasms and ancillary diagnostic techniques. Cytopathologists need to familiarize themselves with the cytomorphology, immunophenotype, genotype, and clinical features of this classification system and thoughtfully apply these ancillary techniques to the FNAB diagnosis of malignant lymphoma..
