Abstract
This study aimed to identify the aspects that hinder the integration of man in reproductive planning. An integrative review of the literature was made in May 2016 in the LILACS and BDENF databases using the descriptors "nursing", "family planning" and "ethics", considering the period from 2005 to 2015, resulting in 6 articles. According to data, the year 2014 had 3 publications, the Portuguese language was predominant in 5 articles and all the studies have level of evidence IV. After reading the articles in full, three aspects were identified that hinder men's participation in reproductive planning: gender social construction, inadequate health services and lack of qualification and/or professional commitment. It is concluded that new research is necessary to increase the scientific evidence and to consolidate references for the performance of professionals and for the existing public policies regarding the participation of men in reproductive planning.
