Abstract

Objective: To analyze the current scientific collection related to left ventricular hypoplasia, analyzing the possibilities and outcomes of surgical treatments. Methodology: Integrative literature review that searched for articles in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), using the descriptors: "left ventricular hypoplasia" AND "treatment" from 2020-2022. Results and discussion: The sample corpus totaled 23 articles, with 02 thematic axes: (I) Studies found and their surgical techniques and (II) Comparison of studies regarding patient survival. Final Considerations: There was a better understanding of the importance of surgical palliation for the viability of patient survival. More scientific evidence is suggested that raises greater knowledge about mortality between stages, as well as mortality from other procedures involved in palliative reconstruction, providing additional evidence for the long-term survival rate.
