Abstract

In the valence band photoemission spectra of CeNi single crystals, we have observed a new satellite feature which appears at the lower binding energy side of the two-hole bound state satellite and shows resonance enhancement at the Ni 3 p threshold. On the basis of the observed excitation energy dependences of the spectral features, we investigate the origin and the resonance aspect of this new feature. We also investigate the origin of the other weak valence band satellites which appear at 5.3 eV and 10.6 eV.
