Abstract
The author analyzes several connections between university institutions and formation of some natives of both countries who had special relevancy during this century, from information —in the main unpublished— preserved in different Spanish and Italian files: first, biographical-academic aspects of Portuguese people trained in Salamanca, with special reference to Hector Rodriguez, professor of the «Prima» of Laws in Salamanca. The second aspect says to the degrees obtained by one of the Castilians that more influenced the «Estudio conimbricense», Juan de Morgovejo, and with the totally new information of the graduated in Canon Law Juan Gutierrez (born in Plasencia-Spain), whose works were a common place for teachers, students and professionals of the Law during the Modern Age. The third aspect approaches the biography of the cardinal Francisco Pacheco of Toledo, born in Ciudad Rodrigo, whose family was native to the kingdom of Portugal though they were living in the province of Salamanca several centuries. This jurist, with a degree in Canon Law for Salamanca, was a key person in the relationships of King Philip II with the Holy See during the third quarter of the 16th century, taking part actively in the most significant events of that moment, as the League against the Turks, at the same time as he initiates the list of prelates in the archdiocese of Burgos. Finally, we state the existence of the students' confraternities, including of Portuguese students, one of whose common projects was the maintenance of a periodic mail by the places of origin.
