Abstract

SUMMARYSoluble amino acid analyses of the green and chlorotic areas of several variegated plants generally showed that amino acids accumulated in the chlorotic tissues. Asparagine levels were consistently and conspicuously higher in the chlorotic areas. This pattern is discussed in the context of other physiological chloroses.
