Abstract

A safe method for replacement of the entire aortic valve, root, and ascending aorta for aortic insufficiency associated with an ascending aortic aneurysm is supported. This method utilizes a composite synthetic graft and valve with direct annular suture and implantation of the coronary arteries in the graft. The advantages of the technique include a shortened operation and freedom from postoperative hemorrhage, paraprosthetic leakage, and recurrent aneurysm formation.
