For more than 15 years, ASA has participated as an exhibitor at this important gathering of state lawmakers. Jay Epstein, MD, FASA, Chair of the ASA Task Force on State Advocacy, joined State Affairs staff in interacting with state legislators and legislative staff at the exhibit booth. ASA represented physician anesthesiologists as part of a larger joint physician booth called “Physicians Advocating for Patients.” This booth included representatives of the American Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Academy of Dermatology, American College of Surgeons, and the Federation of State Medical Boards.
