Abstract
The article desenvolves a study about the ‘General Meeting’, while a pedagogical device instituted in Escola Superior de Agricultura e Veterinaria do Estado de Minas Gerais (ESAV), between 1927 and 1951, that had helped to forge a man and professional profile wanted for that public establishment owned by the state. For that, it introduces aspects related to rurality moviment discution that will guide the institutionalization of agricultural teaching in Brazil, on the first half of the 20th century, in legal and political terms, to understand the context of criation and conceptions of ESAV's way to teach, viewing the integral and professional building profile.

Resumo: O artigo contém um estudo sobre as ‘reuniões gerais’ que, enquanto dispositivo pedagógico instituído na Escola Superior de Agricultura e Veterinária do Estado de Minas Gerais (ESAV), entre 1927 e 1951, contribuíram para forjar o perfil de homem e de profissional ensejado por esse estabelecimento público estadual. Apresenta aspectos do debate e dos movimentos do ruralismo que nortearam a institucionalização do ensino agrícola no Brasil na primeira metade do século XX, em termos legais e políticos. Sua finalidade é entender o contexto de criação e a concepção de ensino da ESAV, com vistas ao perfil de formação integral e profissional de seus alunos.
