The EU has set limits for how much PFAS food sold within the union is allowed to contain. The limits came into force on January 1, 2023. Food producers, along with government agencies, now have to make sure they are not exceeded. According to advocacy group ChemSec these limits are not enough. In a press release on January 10, they are calling ‘hungry for more’, calling for a universal ban on PFAS, which they consider to be ‘forever chemicals’.
