Abstract

This study focuses on the 1925 legislative elections that took place in the six electoral district of the Alentejo (Portugal). It addresses topics related to political contextualization, the choice of candidates for deputies, the electoral campaign, clientelism, electoral fraud and agreements. It also presents a review of the electoral results of the Alentejo, moving away from the numbers followed by Portuguese historiography.
